Celebration of Life Services for Mother Sarah Gates of Covington, GA., will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, 12:00 NOON at Second Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 230 Stovall St SE Atlanta, GA. 30316, with remains placed in repose at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Timothy S. Starks, Pastor, Pastor Theodis Bell, Jr., Officiating. Interment, Washington Memorial Gardens, 700 Jordan Lane, Decatur, GA. 30033. Public Viewing and Visitation will be held at the mortuary Friday, 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, James E. Gates; brothers, James C. Kindell, Timothy E. Kindell (Claudine).
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Joann Gates-Shealey (Justin); son, Isaiah J. Gates (Jasmin); sisters, Carolyn Darden (William), Willie Mae Culberson (Pete), Adeline Cody Kindell, Edith T. Kindell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Floral arrangements can be sent to Donald Trimble Mortuary, Inc until 2/20/2026. Please wear Red and White Colors if attending the funeral services.
