Mr.Gaines, I was told that you passed after my visit to the gym on Fort Benning Ga this morning. As I entered the building you were the first person I thought about but you were not up front to talk like we always do. After my workout I still didn't see you so I talked to the manager there and asked about you that's when I got the news. We go way back and you will truly be missed by many. Thanks for being a great person in my life. Much love!

Mr. Tommy represented what life is really about! My family and I are blessed more today for just know Mr. Tommy. I will never forget the talks and time we spent together at the gym. He could uplift your day with his smile. He would always ask where have you been if it's been awhile. I love the brother! As I man I can only pray that my mind, soul, and determination/peace can come close to what Mr. Tommy displayed on a daily basis. Mr. Tommy was a walking example that trouble don't last always. I drove from Decatur to attend a service at Shady Grove where Beulah Missionary Baptist Church was on program. I returned to my car and noticed I had a flat tire. Immediately, a man jumped into action and asked me to open my trunk so he could change the tire. I met a humble, kind hearted and loving man. He would often visit Beulah and greet me with a warm smile. I will miss him! May God comfort you and the family. Deborah Marshall
