Homegoing services for Mrs. Veljean Elizabeth Wheeler, of Ellenwood will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, 11:00 AM at the Donald Trimble Mortuary Chapel. Interment, Lincoln Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends, Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the mortuary, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Wheeler and her son, Tommy Hawkins, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Darryl Hawkins, LaTonya Hawkins, Sonya (North) Cook, and George Xavier North; ten grand-children: Shontonius Hawkins, Qwan Boykins, Furenta Phillips, Corenda Boykins (deceased), Sundrinya Watson, Shimere Scott, Terraneisha Hawkiins, Shardaye Cook, Angel North, and George North Jr. She was also a greatgrandmother of thirteen: Isaiah, Jalen, Kaywarn, Caleb, Jordan, Iyanna, Jakob, Kaiden, Skylar, Joseph, Gracelynn, Givenchy, and Riaan, who she loved dearly. Veljean had one niece and three nephews whom called her “Aunt Vel”: Felena Dukes, David Dukes, Terrance Lewis, Anwar Haram; goddaughter, Charlene Newton; godson, Donald Watts.
