My sympathy and love to family. God has taken an Angel from us
My sincere condolences to the Family. Velma had a spirit that made her presence known without speaking. missed her when she left St Paul Community Baptist Church! She continued communicating by social media. Now that she transitioned I know she's watching over Us. Thank you Velma for always being yourself.
RIP my Unity Dancer sister. It has been an honor to know and serve with you. Love and light yo your family and friends. Cherise Booker
My heartfelt condolences and prayers to Velma Chaney's family who became my family over 40+ years as she and I met at St. Paul Community Baptist Church choir. We became sisters and always stayed connected! We went numerous places together and always visited her mom who lived in Far Rockaway, Queens and met her daughters and grandchildren. Our time together of dinner, beaches, bowling, laughing including just the other week will always be remembered. Velma has fought a challenging fight and completed the race. So, now she is taking her rest with the ancestors, free from all pain to live in God's Mansion. Sleep in Heavenly Peace, my sister! Love you always! Edith
My heart is heavy, but my soul is grateful for every moment I was blessed to share with my sweet, loving, and kind Aunt. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved without asking for anything in return. Her heart was pure giving, her smile was warm light, and her presence was a safe place.
Though she has transitioned from this world, I believe her spirit is soaring higher than ever—free, radiant, and wrapped in peace. I pray the heavens embrace her just as she embraced us in life. She leaves behind love that will never fade, memories that will always comfort, and a legacy of kindness that will live on in every soul she touched.
Rest beautifully, Aunt Velma. You will always be loved, always be missed, and forever remembered.
