Thank you for your years of service and help for this state of Alabama.

Thank you sir for the many years of services to the community. Thanks to his family for sharing him with the community. May God comfort you always. May his loving memories always comfort you. The changes you help make, did improve the state of Alabama. RIP Rep Holmes.

My condolences to Rep.Holmes family. I am proud of Rep. Holmes leadership in this community and forever grateful for his guidance and support during my work in state government.

To the Holmes Family We are sorry to hear about the passing of Alvin Holmes. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends during this time of great sadness. Please continue o draw true comfort from this future promise from God where He assures us that there is going to be a resurrection of life for those in the grave.(John 5:28-29) Only God who is the source of life can make such a promise, and then to carry that promise out.(Psalms 36:9) Yes our future hope fpr life rest with God,. Yes remember that God does not lie.(Titus 1:2)

A LION when it came to defending and standing up for HIS people!

Alabama State Representative Alvin Holmes was a man of towering stature and moral acclaim; he held visceral convictions on injustices of every kind. Representative Holmes particularly abhorred racial discrimination in any form. His prominence came about because of his unfaltering willingness to loudly express, peacefully protest; and adopt an oppositional position that illuminated inequities, racism, and discrimination embedded in Public Policy and codified in State Law. 

His feats required courage on many levels. Nevertheless, Representative Holmes was a catalyst for economic equality, social-change, and political reverence. His voice will forever ring in the hollow halls of the Alabama State Legislature and may his legacy infinitely endures in the hearts and minds of his constituents, students of Alabama State University that inured the benefits of his professorship and inspiration, and those individuals who endeavor to embark upon representing the people in his likeness and spirit.... We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Alabama State Representative Alvin Holmes. May the grace of God comfort you during these very difficult times.
