Grace be to all of you and Peace from God our Father Jesus Christ. Barbara was a wonderful, Generous and Joyful Sister-in-law and I will truly miss her. Barbara was always there for me, I could call her anytime day or night and she would answer. She would listen to what I had to say and sometimes give advice if I needed. I thank God for such a lovely sister-in-law and good friend. Barbara loved her family to the most highest, Remarkable Jewel who cherished her forever love for Mike and Courtney. I will always cherish her memories whether it be at family outings, traveling or just at family gatherings. Barbara has touched so many people no matter what age they are she had a Heart of Gold and she would do for people whatever she could no matter what the situation would be. It is not easy to lose someone you love but remember she will always be in our hearts. God has called his Precious Angel to come to live with him forever and he will hold her in his Awesome Arms. Remember God's Grace and Mercy will bring you through so hand on in there he will take care of you. God will comfort you and give you the strength to endure. Think of the good times of love peace and happiness. Blessings to All of you, Love Always Sis Ann Parker.
In memory of my high school friend. I light this candle When I walked to Carver High School every morning, I had to pass Barbara's house so I would stop by many mornings and wait for her so we could walk together. She was slow because every hair had to be in perfect place. She always had very beautiful hair. Rest In Peace Barbara. Cottie Bolling-Wright Gainesville, Florida

To the family we encourage all to please draw comfort in this loving promise from God where He assures us that our love ones will live again. We looovveeee you Barbara!!!
Thank you for being a friend, comedian, confidante and sister. The Lord reunited our families and we are so thankful for the collective times that we have shared. Our family friendship spans decades, beginning with your helping hand with our (at the time) infant daughter. That has forever been cherished.
When certain songs play, like Kool and the Gang's "Get Down On It", it takes out memories back to a period where we would party and have a great time.(So many memories with you and Mike.) Our conversations,
You and Mike have since been blessed with such a beautiful family, with Courtney growing into a positive, educated, powerful and beautiful young lady. And just as you helped us support our first daughter β€ through some of the more challenging periods in our life, we will most definitely support Courtney and do the same.
Our hearts are full. You fought a good fight Barbara. We will see you when it is our time as well.
Thank you for always being honest, "shooting straight", having good (zingers) jokes, witty...and always being willing to help others.
You will be missed. You are missed...but we know we will see you again.
Blessings to Mike, Courtney, Murt and the extended family.
-Sylvia, George, Syreeta, Simone and extended family.
Barbara,
I want to thank you for being such a great friend to my family....especially my mom. You were there for my family when my parents moved to Texas and when my older sister was born. You helped to comfort my mom during her times of transition from New York and as she was adjusting to being a new mom Thank you for being you. Life went on and there were different seasons in you and my mom's life and relationship....you both reconnected and it was like you two never missed a beat. O how thankful I am to have experienced and observed that profound happiness in my mom as the two of you forged a deeper relationship. True friends are hard to find.....thank you for being a true friend to my mom. I got to know you through my mom....and was it a treat. I enjoyed it. May you rest in peace and I pray that you are smiling down on us from heaven. Jesus makes no mistakes and we are thankful for the time that he granted you on this Earth. We know that we will see you again....we love you.
Simone Turner (Jackson) - George and Sylvia Turner's daughter
I am grieving the devastated loss of my friend Barbara. I am thankful that I was lucky enough to experience an honest and loving relationship like ours. And I am so gratified and proud of it. Barbara was an incredible woman that I loved. I will never stop talking about you! The feeling of anxiety, sadness, and loneliness is an indication of my love for you. I lost someone precious and irreplaceable, and I am not going to be okay for a while. I lost my best friend, cheerleader, confidant, the person who made me laugh, and a "witness to my life."It is a blessing during the course of my days, weeks, and years to have someone check in on me to find out how I was doing. Barbara was there for so many events in my family's life. (birthdays, graduations, holidays, etc.) It is because of Barbara I am a better person, friend, and mother. Thank You, Barbara, for loving my family and me and getting us through the rough times and rainbows. My hand is over my heart in gratitude and love. You have no idea how you've touched my life and how grateful I am that you got me and accepted me for who I am. To the Family, Mike & Courtney,Grief is a lifelong process. It doesn't end, but it evolves. Glenda,Frank,Tyler & Taylor Carter

To the family of Miss Carver HIgh School of 1968, my prayers go out to the family. Barbara, from my memory, was always a very warm, funny and loving person to be around. In fact most of the members of the Class of 1968 were that way. She regained supreme and her time here on earth has come to an end. She joins her wonderful parents who made their home here in Montgomery. Mrs. Jenkins was always a loving educator in our city. TO God be the GLory for this life that was shared with all of us.

Believe In Yourself (Charlie smalls) Song by Diana Ross-The Wiz If you believe Within your heart you'll know That no one can change The path that you must go Believe what you feel And know you're right, because The time will come around When you say it's yours Believe there's a reason to be Believe you can make time stand still You know from the moment you try If you believe I know you will
Barbara,
I met you in `1981 when I was a new mom. You not only befriended me, but you treated my daughter as if she was yours. You were loving, fearless, outspoken, and always stood up for what was right. I will miss our ability to laugh, even during difficult times. You job on Earth is done and God has other plans for you. As much as I will miss you, I know, however, to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. May you rest in peace. I will never forget you. I love you!!!

Barbara, who would have ever thought when we met all those years ago in Tuskegee we were destined to be together for 48 years. Even though you thought I was a Freshman and didn't have time for me, I guess I won you over with my Charm (lol). As our vows stated "In Sickness and in Health for Richer or Poorer, for Better or Worst Till Death Do Us Part." were written with you in mind. I am thankful for the time we had together and for our beautiful Daughter Courtney. Barbara, you were loved and respected by everyone who met you and got to know you. My Heart is truly Empty now that you are gone. I know that we will rejoice when we see each other again. I know there is going to be a Great Reunion in Heaven when you meet up with all the Family and Friends that preceded you. Know that I will Always Love You my Beautiful Black Queen. Rest In Peace Barbara until we see each other again. Your Loving Husband, Michael Boykin
Meghan Trainor says it best in her mom song "She loved me to the end"! One thing I know about my "Sweet Angel Baby" is that she loved me with every fiber in her body! It's really tough losing your best friend, but one thing that brings me a sense of peace and comfort is knowing that my mom and I spent the last 32 years creating memories, loving each other, taking care of each other, building our relationship with God together, walking through life side by side, and literally doing everything together. Our family and friends never had to wonder where we were because if you saw one then the other wasn't too far behind! This Thelma & Louise duo will reunite together again one day πβ€οΈ
Terrie Galloway Horton, my we continue to shine our lights brightly. RIP Barbara Boykins
