Charlye Mae Pines, 88, a lifelong resident of Montgomery Alabama, died Friday, November 21, 2025, in Montgomery. Charlye was born November 4, 1937, to the late Charlie and Callie Pines, who preceded her in death. She was educated in her youth in the Lutheran school system and was a 1955 graduate of the George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, AL. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime, including school bus driver and seamstress. She retired as a clerk with the Alabama Department of Public Safety. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in several capacities, mostly notably as a former member and past president of the Senior Usher Board. Charlye was a woman of great faith, strength, and tenacity. She loved spending time with family and friends, and was known for her sense of style, sharp wit and unmatched sense of humor. Her many talents included calligraphy, gardening, and cooking, which she generously shared with family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth and genuine spirit. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Rhonda (Edward) Webb, and Bridgette (John) Mitchell; grandchildren, Jamian (Chole) Barlow, Taylor Mitchell, Jada Mitchell, and John Mitchell, III; great grandchildren, Ivori Barlow and Mylah Mitchell; a host of cousins and countless friends.
