Reverend Clinton Maryland and I were childhood friends. We grew up in Weeping Willow Baptist Church. We participated in Youth Choir, Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, Crusaders. We treated each other like blood brothers. We also played in the band at Booker T. Washington High School. Clinton was a friend indeed. Clinton and Lucille dedicated their lives to the ministry as they poured their hearts into the Ministry at The Starr Baptist Church. At one time his late brother Wallace, Clinton, and I served together as faculty members at Alabama State University. Long live his legacy of leadership. May God Bless his legacy of love.
