As a native of Union Springs, Alabama, I've known Mr. White for at least 65 years. I've know his discipline at school (with that leather strap), but I've also had the benefit of him volunteering his time and effort to coach a baseball team I was on. And that was separate and apart away from the school, and I use the term "team" loosely. More accurately, we were just a rag-tag group of boys trying to play the game. Still, Mr. White hung with us and led our efforts to practice and prepare for a game that never happened. But what I remember clearly, and appreciate to this day, is that he gave of himself to help us.
Mr. White continued to be connected to Union Springs long after he retired from the school system, another very admirable trait of his. He was present at class reunions, funerals, etc., just warmly connecting so many of us to the past and the present.
So, I offer sincerest condolences to Mr. White's family and encourage you to not sorrow as those who have no hope. In due time, the hope of a joyous reunion with Mr. White is as real as the notable, long-lasting gleam in his eyes! May he rest in peace eternally.
I came to know "Teddy" following his marriage to our good friend, "Trish" Shores, in the 1950s. I have followed his professional and fraternal life in Union Springs and elsewhere, throughout the years. His quiet demeanor and pleasing personality belied the "ever-charging" nature of his "Being". May God continue to bless his wife "Trisha" and their Children, as he has done for more than seventy (70) years. May he rest well in the arms of the risen Savior, whom he loved," Jesus, the Christ." We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. White on many occasions through the years. He was such a dignified man with a joyful personality. The news of his transition is heartbreaking but we are aware that he always gleefully anticipated his walk into eternity with our loving heavenly Father. May the God of comfort and peace be with Mr.White's loving family now and forever.
With heartfelt condolences to the White and the Mayes families Dad during your time of bereavement. Just know we are praying for you.

Mr.White was a well educated, structured yet flexible man. As a young girl who crushed on his son, Ted, I always felt, as everyone he met did---special to him. The doors of their home was open with warmth and kindness to what many of us experienced as our first and only real music studio. He believed in the dreams of his children, excellent husband, leader, golfer, and opened countless doors of opportunities that have been rooted and will continue to spread. Enjoy the presence of the LORD. Your wonderful children, grands, and all have learned from the lessons and shall carry on. Love, Janis Miles
