Obituary For Arlene Frances McCormick

Ms. Arlene F. McCormick, 84, went to be with her loved ones on January 21, 2026, at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC. Heaven gained an amazing, incredible unique angel this day. Arlene was born in Springfield, Ohio on August 29, 1941 to the late Roy Raymond and Emma Rose Wagner. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and best friend.

Arlene was a joy in life. She never let anything or anyone get her down. She always got back up and kept fighting, conquering everything in life. She was the backbone of her family. She made sure anyone, even a stranger, had food in their stomach and would not be hungry. She was a good cook and backer. She worked three different jobs while taking care of her children.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her youngest son, Paul, and her beloved 46 years long term partner, Doug Morrison, Sr.

Arlene is survived by her sons David McCormick and James D. McCormick; daughter, Kathy McCormick, ten grandchildren, Katie, Nancy, J.D., and others; great grandchildren, Hailey, Caitlin, Greg, Ty, Theo, and many more. She also leaves her many memories with her best friend, Margie, who made the days with her at Peak fun by reading the Bible, doing puzzles, and talking with her.

A celebration in her honor will be held later, at a convenient date for the family.
