Ms. Barbara Jane Murphy Archie, 81 of Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Willow Ridge Nursing Facility, Rutherfordton, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC on May 4, 1942, to the late Lawrence B. Murphy and the late Effie Browning Murphy.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at S.T. Enloe Chapel at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM.

Our Aunt Barbara, youngest sister of our dear late mother Carolyn Murphy Webber, was a loving, thoughtful, witty, and kind-hearted person who was a source of joy to our family throughout her life. She had a wonderful ability to recall dates, especially birthdays, and other key events. And my siblings and I will always remember her amazing smile and compassionate nature.
