I so hate that I missed the home going of this wonderful beautiful woman. What a powerhouse she was. When her and her church stood up no matter where they were they were a true representation of God's power. At the age of 56 I remember as a young boy around 7 hearing my grandmother say that is one singing woman. In time I learned that this special woman have a son who was a classmate of mine... Leon. I tell you heaven has got one serious choir going on right now. My heart's in prayer goes out to you guys the world is definitely going to miss her but heaven is truly off the chain right now. Love you all

To the family of Bertha Camp sorry to hear of your loss but I know God has won him a singing angel over in Beaulh Land so RIP sister Camp for yourwork isn't done yet just keep singing up in heaven for the lord. Mary Dorsey Sims

To the Camp & Boykins Families:

Ms. Bert was truly a legend in the Lawndale community; not only for that signature vocal attribute that was able to wreck a church & move even the coldest heart, but for her unyielding service to God for her fellow man. My earliest memories of church have her stamped on them, especially during the old District 1 meetings of the EMBA. She is a personal heroine of mine, as she rallied the family to be there for mine when we were in mourning during the passing of my sister and mother. Ms. Bert will be severely missed down here, but we know that she made it to the BeulahLand about which she sang so fervently. My heart goes out to you all, and I pray that the comfort of God will overshadow you in the days and months to come. I love y'all.

To the family of Mrs. Bertha Boykins, I offer my most sincere condolences and prayers. I have known Bert and the Camp and Boykins family for many years from fellowshipping with them as neighboring churches ( I a member of Jones Tabernacle). Bert was a beautiful humble and bold servant for the Lord. To know her was to truly love her. Bert was like a ray of sunshine, lifting spirits when she walked in the church just by her presence, and the beautiful voice of song was like icing on the cake. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten for all she gave to the Lord, family and community. Wendy Vinson

To the family of Bertha Boykins, my heart goes out to yawl as you lay her to rest. Bert was a mother to me (Samantha McSwain-Stith),Cathy and Darryl. When we lost our mother, Bert stepped to the plate, not a day went by that she didn't check on us, making sure we were alright. I often think about that. Singing wasn't nothing to Bert, and she did it well, never did she sing to impress other, but she did to the glory of God. I loved to hear her put the tenor part to a song, my oh my. Bert loved the Lord and didn't mind spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ where ever she went. She will be missed. Family keep your heads up and know that Bert's alright, she looking down on us hoping we'll make the right decisions and get it right with God so that we'll see her again. I love you all and may God Bless and keep you.

Samantha McSwain-Stith

To the Family of Bertha, You are in our thoughts and prayers in the loss of your loving Sister of God. She was a beautiful and loving person, sharing that God-given voice freely wherever she went. It especially touched our hearts how they would visit the sick during the Christmas Holidays and other special occasions sharing those uplifting songs as they did so many times for my Mother. We always enjoyed their singing, especially "Beulah Land." She was a true spiritual leader and I know the family will honor her memory by continuing to sing God's praises. Lovingly and prayerfully.
