Obituary For Billy Dawkins

Mr. Billy Wayne Dawkins, 64, of Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation in Rutherfordton, NC. He was born on January 9, 1957 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Earnestine Dawkins and the late Robert Patterson.

Billy Wayne was a graduate of Burns High School. He relocated to New York for several years and moved back to Shelby in the early 1990’s. He attended Voice of Hope Seventh Day Adventist Church. Billy Wayne enjoyed socializing with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Sheila Marie Dawkins and Catherine Jean Dawkins; brother, Ricky Patterson; maternal grandparents, Fred and Katie Dawkins and paternal grandparents, Claude and Maggie Mae Patterson.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Robert Leon Patterson (Colleen) of High Point, NC; a sister, Amy Parker of Cherryville, NC; his aunts, Joyce Moore, Louise McDowell and Pauline Mauney all of Shelby; great aunt, Thelma Leach of Shelby; his uncle, Robert Dawkins (Sarah) of Shelby; special friends, Estelle Procter and Teresa Gidney; his godson, Zondrius Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Dawkins will be private. The service will be Facebook livestreamed starting at 1:45 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Thursday. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
