Bobbie Moses Hayes, 82, of Grover, NC passed away on Thursday July 22 at Atrium-Health-Cleveland. She was born March 6, 1939 to the late Ambus and Lucy Kilgore Moses.
She was a graduate of Camp High School. She retired from Celanese (Fiber). She loved fishing and gardening. Her true passions were encouraging young women to be strong and independent, spending time with family and investing in rental properties. She was an excellent “hanydwoman” who could renovate her rental properties with minimal assistance from others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, John Moses, Maxine Stephenson, Rosell Meeks and Geraldine Cooke. She is survived by one brother, Rev. Carey Moses (Rubie) of Opelousas, LA, and one sister, Lurlean Moses of Grover, NC. She is also survived by a great niece, Chaquel Roye of Alexandria, VA and a great nephew, Leighton Roye Jr. (Tempest) of Jacksonville, FL of whom she said, “I didn’t have any children but they took me from being an aunt to a grandmother.” She also leaves her two life-long best friends, Ann Patterson and Kathryn Wittenberg both of Shelby, NC. She leaves a host of friends, family and friends to cherish her memory.
Her quick wit and straight to the point attitude will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel, Shelby, NC. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 2:45 PM.
We will always remember our auntie as a strong independent women. Love always Wayne, Denessa, Leonce, Licia, and Isaiah.
