Obituary For Brenda Jones-Agnew

Ms. Brenda Jones-Agnew was born on August 5, 1945 and left us to cherish her memory on November 23, 2019 in Lawndale, NC.

Brenda was a graduate of Douglas High School. She later moved to New Haven, CT where she was employed with Kinko Construction Company. Always known for her strong personality and leadership, she became her own boss owning and operating several businesses under B. Jones and Associates that included childcare and a cleaning service. Later in life, she was employed by Yale New Haven Hospital as an Administrative Assistant until she retired.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Olillian Baccus Cross; three sisters, Daisy Mae, Josephine Cross and Evelyn Josey and four brothers, Clarence, Theodore, Preston and Freddy Cross.

Fond memories of her abound in the hearts of her three sons, Darrell Jones (Sharon) of Waterbury, CT, Junior Jones (Kim) of New Haven, CT and Jeffery Jones (Denise) of NC; two sisters, Geraldine Cross and Sandra Cross both of NC; two brothers, Ralph Cross of NC and Benjamin Cross of CT; a special daughter, Marta Lozado; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren along with a hot of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Walls Memorial Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the church.
