Obituary For Brenda Watkins

Mrs. Brenda Ann Poston Watkins went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her residence in Shelby, NC. She was born on February 10, 1950 in Cleveland County, NC to the late James Poston, Sr. and Mary Lou Lee Poston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Rose Jones; a brother, Harold Gene Poston and two nephews, Brian Keith Poston and Jaques Poston.

She leaves cherished memories to her husband, Edward Earl Watkins; two daughters, Latasha Watkins of Kings Mountain, NC and Kenya Robinson (Montrell) of Shelby; a step-daughter, Dorothy Crawford of Shelby; her siblings, James Poston, Jr. (Marie) of Shelby, Charles Poston (Beverly) of Detroit, MI and Bernice Laborn (Eugene) of Shelby; her grandchildren, Shadiah Shumate (Lonnie, III) Tykeevius McIntosh both of Raleigh, NC, Antwan Crawford of Myrtle Beach, SC, Katerius Hopper,Tyrez Hopper, Dashun Thompson and Demarcus Thompson all of Shelby and Malachi Powell of Kings Mountain, NC; two great-grandchildren, Lonnie Shumate, IV and Ka’mari Hopper; nieces, Cassandra Jones, Tachika Poston, Serena Clark and Sandra Banks; nephews, Adam Poston, Antonio Poston, Shawn Poston, Charles Poston, Jr. and Michael Poston; special friend, Rosa Moton of Grover, NC; “her girls” Erica Jones, Connie Lott, Candace Bridgeford, Destiny Poe, Zamariah Jones and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 3:30 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed starting at 3:15 PM from Enloe Mortuary’s Facebook Page. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM and at other times at the home.
