N.C. when he was District Attorney of Gaston County and I was an Assistant District Attorney in Mecklenburg County. Calvin was one of the nicest people I have ever known in my life. Calvin was a good friend to me back in the Commercial Building days. I was new in Gaston County and working at Legal Services. He was always gracious and willing to teach me. We got to work together some months before he won his election as Gaston County DA. A very successful attorney and politician. I always looked up to him. He will be missed.

My most rememberable moment was when we joined them on a golf trip to Tennessee; Castle on the Green. The place stayed was designed like a castle on a golf course. I will always cherished those memories of that time. We had such a wonderful time together along with several couples. It was not like any other trip of relaxation. Lots of fun with a fine group of people which made it what it was.

Calvin and I played golf together on many occasions our friendship grew into a professional relationship as well He always would find time to see me even when I didn't have an appointment. Very nice man. It was a pleasure knowing you. May the peace of God be with his family and friends during this time.
