Obituary For Charles Parks
Deacon Charles Albert Parks, 63 of 3123 Old School Road Shelby, NC passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Atrium Health- Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on September 29, 1957 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Other Parks and the late Marcella Eskridge Parks.
Charles was a faithful member of Golden Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Charles was employed with PPG for many years and retired from U.P.S. Freight.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chasfier Parks; a sister, Jonnie Mae Mintz and a brother, Otis Parks.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Joyce Parks; his children, Shata Surratt, Anton Surratt, Casey Parks, Porsche Parks and Charles M. Parks all of Shelby; three brothers, Benjamin Parks, Richard Parks (Lucille) and Randy Parks (Sandra); one sister, Geraldine Parks all of Shelby; grandchildren, Shardae, Princeton, Kiyahn, Alana, Aiyonna and Amara; a special nephew, Morai Goodlett (Lisa); special nieces, Kassandra Goodlett, Christina Odoms (Demetris) and Latasha Parks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Parks will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Golden Ridge Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 10:45 AM. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the church and other times at 3123 Old School Road Shelby. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
