Obituary For Christina Jones

On September 6, 2022 Christina “Christy” Diane Jones went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 66. Christy was born to Helen Petty and James Wilson on December 17, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey.

Christy graduated from Crest High School in 1974 and attended Cleveland Community College with an interest in business administration. She fed hundreds of people through her time at Hospice of Cleveland County, always providing comfort and delicious food. She was a devout Christian and participated in choir at her home church of Hopper’s Chapel Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, baking, and fussing at her beloved son Cody.

Christy joins her father James Wilson, and her grandfather Sam Petty Sr. in Heaven.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Jones, her son Cody Jones and his wife Nicole, her grandchildren Rachael and Victoria Jones, her siblings Roger Petty, James Jones, Sylvia Jones, Marty Jones, Stanley Jones, Ronnie Jones, Jacqualine Goddard, and Ricky Jones, and her nieces and nephews Andrea Chisolm, Brandon Jones, Montrell Robinson, Crystal Logan, and Alicia Jones.

The Receiving of Family and Friends will be Sunday, September 11 at 3 o’clock at the Activity Building at Holly Oak Park. Funeral Services will be held at Hopper’s Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 14 at 3 o’clock with a visitation starting at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of Cleveland County.

Ms Jones will truly be missed. She did some work for me at the AT &T store in Shelby years ago. What a wonderful soul! RIP Ms Christina.

I am so sorry to hear of Christie's passing. We worked together at Fasco. You can not think of Christy without seeing her wonderful smile and waiting for her to say some witty thing to uplift your spirit and make your day. Rest In Peace Christy in the arms of Jesus.

I worked with Christy at Fasco. She made the office a fun place to be. Such a good friend.

This is a hard one to grasp. Christy was a sweetheart. I loved cutting up with her. She was fun and always had a smile. She would go out of her way to do for others. I'll surely miss her sweet face and wit. Hospice was very fortunate to have her. I was fortunate to have known her in this life.
