Obituary For Courtney Brown

Courtney Táshea Brown, 33 of Shelby NC, received her abundant entrance into the Everlasting Kingdom of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 24, 2019.

Born March 31, 1986, Courtney was known for her loving, and caring spirit and being the life of the party. She found joy in caring for her nieces and nephews and many other children. She loved cooking, animals and being with her family. She dedicated her time to raising her goddaughter Makayla who was her pride and joy. She was a graduate of Crest High School, and was a member of Faith Harvest Church.

Courtney was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather Rowell Moore Sr., paternal great-grandparents Houston and Nerva Brown, grandmother Frances Stroud, and nephew Carson Brown.

Left to cherish her fond memories are her parents, Pamela and Lamar Woods and Fredrick Brown of Shelby NC; goddaughter, Makayla Kirkland; 6 sisters, Brittney Brown, Tiffney Brown, Whittney Brown, Tareney Moon, Kellse Woods all of Shelby NC, and Kaelyn Woods of Tampa, FL; 5 brothers, Andre Moon, Fredrick Jones, both of Shelby NC, Mario (Nneka) Robbs of Gastonia NC, Wesley (Sheronika) Brown of Jacksonville FL., Tevin Avery of Lincolnton NC.; special uncle, Brandon Jefferies of Shelby NC; maternal grandparents, Joyce and Willie Jefferies of Gaffney SC, Bobby Joe McDowell of Shelby NC; paternal grandmother, Pauline Parrish of Shelby NC; maternal great-grandmother, Cora Moore of Shelby NC; aunts, Gaye (Robert) DeVoe, Teresa Brown, Ytonia (Tyrone) Surratt, Pamela (Ronnie) Haynes, Madison McDowell, and Summer McDowell, all of Shelby NC, Angela Jefferies of Gaffney SC; uncles, Efrend (Cassaundra) Stroud of Gastonia NC, and Fredrick Degree of Gaffney SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Faith Harvest Church at 12:30 PM. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 12:30 PM at the church. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery Shelby, NC.
