Obituary For David Lattimore

Pastor David Lee Lattimore was born on May 14, 1947 in Cleveland County, NC. He departed this life for his eternal one on October 18, 2021 in Shelby, NC. His life was full of love, family and service to his community. He has always been a man of purpose, most recently campaigning for the Senate seat in North Carolina’s 44th District. He was also mayor of Kings Town for three terms. He was a voice for the youth as a teacher at Shelby High and Burns High Schools; a youth basketball coach for Dover-Lattimore Elementary, and the president of the Cleveland Youth Program. As a lifelong learner, he graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s degree and an Associate’s degree from Cleveland Technical Community College.

Although the sun has set on Pastor David Lee’s story, his voice will remain in our memories, quoting Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me.” His devotion to others will never be forgotten and he will be missed by a host of family and friends.
