Our beloved David Gene Bryant-Roseboro, 74 of Shelby NC, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. He was born on June 17, 1948 to the late Gladys Roseboro and the late Claude Huskey, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Eaves. He was raised by his late aunt and uncle, Mary Bryant and James Bryant.
David graduated from Burns High School in 1969. He served his country in the Vietnam War for 2 years. He drove trucks for many years for Goforth and Shelby Asphalt Paving. David was a chef in his own right, he enjoyed making bologna and egg sandwiches for his daughter, niece, and nephew. David was a avid race car fan and enjoyed attending drag racing and race car events. David was a hardworker, who had a contagious personality that would light up the room. He never met a stranger. David's famous sayings were "I know that's right" and "I heard that".
David is survived by his beautiful wife of 36 years, Dorothy Clark Roseboro; mother in law, Julia Clark-Smith (Benny). He is survived by his children, Tracy Tuft (Bobby) of Greenville, SC, Samantha Miller (Marcus) of Greenwood, SC, Shavette Allen (Rev. Maurice) of Kings Mountain, NC, Gregory Clark (Teresa) of Greensboro, NC, Shannon Roseboro of Shelby, NC and Clarissa Roseboro of the home ; sister in law, Harretta Wimbush (Samuel), and brother in laws; Rev. Melvin Clark (Mary) and Anthony Clark. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Ashlee Reed (Brandon), Christina Tuft, Candice Tuft, Makiyah Allen, Maurice Allen Jr, Chris Bolden Jr, Lamonte' Roseboro, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
To the wonderful staff at Wendover Hospice House of Shelby, Our family is grateful for your loving care, kindness and concern for and to our loved one, David and our family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Good Samartian Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM and at other times at 797 Kenmore Street Shelby.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Roseboro family. David was a dear friend during our childhood and school years. We grew up and went different ways in life but we both served in the military and are Vietnam veterans. Whenever I would run into him he was still my friend David Bryant...all smiles and laughter.
