Obituary For Dawn Dawkins

Ms. Dawn Woodard Dawkins, affectionately called “Ma or Mamma Dawn” age 53, of 213 South Fork Dr. Shelby NC departed this life to begin her eternal life on August 14, 2022 in the comfort of her own home.

“Ma” was born on October 5, 1968 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Diane Laura Woodard and the late Albert Woodard. She recieved her GED and also became an LPN. With an original hope of becoming a nurse, she changed her mind and went into retail. As the hard working woman she was, she advanced quickly into Human Resources as well for Wal Mart. Everyone knew her as “Ms. Wal Mart” with the huge smile and swinging ponytail.

“Ma” had a huge passion for charities and always giving a piece of herself back. She was a very avid fundraiser for multiple charities and always encouraged everyone else to give cheerfully. She loved her family and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her mother Diane Woodard; three daughters, Diane Huff, Jordan Woodard and Mikhaila Dawkins all of Shelby, NC; a son, Joshua Dawkins of Greensboro NC;, three sisters, Kathy Shulzman of Florida, Susie Davis of Boiling Springs NC and Kim Woodard Allen of Fayetteville NC; two brothers, George Georke of California and Albert Woodard of Jacksonville, NC; eight grandchildren,, Z’Moria, Zaniah, Zoey, Jocelyn, Zy’Mir, Alayah, Jasmine and Jacorey a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Palmer Grove Baptist Church.
