Obituary For Deborah Whisonant Pierson

Deborah was born on August 14,1952 in Shelby NC to the late Beatrice Evelyn Whisonant Jones and Carme Elmore. She was the oldest of Beatrice's children and leaves behind her baby sister Delphine Whisonant.

Deborah loved her family, her work and her friends. As a child she had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. She would bring home animals from the local zoo in Brooklyn, NY.

She lived most of her life in Brooklyn NY where she met her first love Kimberly Hollier. They had two children Kimberly Wade Whisonant Hollier Jr. and Omecha Dashone Hollier.

Deborah enjoyed working and meeting new people. She managed bar restaurants and took pride in her work as a receptionist for Court TV / American Lawyer Media. Those that she encountered on her job often became family. She retired and later moved to Florida, and then Rochester, NY. In Rochester she married the love of her life Kenneth Pierson after 30 years together.

Deborah was an independent, loving, caring woman who took pride in the accomplishments of her family members. She naturally took in the motherly role to those around.

Mrs Deborah Marie Whisonant Pierson departed this life on July 23, 2023 in Rochester General Hospital in Rochester NY. Deborah is predeceased by her grandson Jerrel Whisonant. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband Kenneth Pierson; one son, Kimberly Whisonant Hollier Jr.; one daughter, Omecha Hollier; one sister, Delphine Whisonant; one daughter-in-law, Shannon Scott; seventeen grandchildren, Charisma and Brandon DuBois, Tykim, Justin, Jasmine, Kalil, Khasson, Au'jahnae, Jaden, Cameron, Jarron, Kiana, Quansha, Tashari, Breontia, Javier, Amyiah; two nephews, Samuel, and Owen; one niece Jameila; and several great grandchildren, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Deborah will be missed dearly by her family.
