Mr. Donald J. “Duck” Addison, 63, of Shelby, NC passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born on August 1, 1957 in Cleveland County, NC to the late James David Addison, Sr. and the late Essie Ross Addison.
Although not a member of a particular church, he attended many so that he could hear the Word. He was a loving brother to all of his sisters and brothers and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. He loved to make them laugh and was a great person to be around.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Darnell Addison.
Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Katrina Huskey; sisters, Linda Addison Hartgrove (Roger) and Deborah Addison (Calvin) both of Shelby, NC and Sharon Denise Johnson of Boiling Springs, NC; five brothers, James Manning (Lynn), of Gaffney, SC, James Addison, Jr. of Waco, NC, Eric Addison (Sheba) of Kings Mountain, NC, Melvin Whitworth (Felicia) and Steven Whiteside (Taya) of Shelby; two close cousins, Harold Cunningham of Cleveland, OH and Jackie Cunningham of Shelby; two aunts, Annie Dorsey of Shelby and Shirley Parker Banks (Charles) also of Shelby; one uncle, Dock Addison; close friend, Carrie Mitchell of Mooresboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him.
