Mrs. Bertha Estine Pettis, 88, of Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Via Health Partners (formerly Wendover Hospice House). She was born on December 13, 1937, in Lincoln County, NC to the late Earl Jeter and Robbie Lee Ashley Jeter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church in Shelby, NC at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The reception of friends and family will be from 11:00 am until 11:30 am at the church. All other times the family will be meeting at her home, 785 Kenmore St. Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting for donations to be made to St. Jude Foundation, Inc. in honor of Mrs. Pettis.

This 💔 was a shocking heartfelt sorry to hear. She was a sweet sweet God fearing lady, yes loved children's take you rest my friend we will meet again soon. Family she was ready to meet Jesus
A true woman of God that never passed judgment on anyone and was always ready to offer a helping hand. Mrs. Estine loved children and they loved her! She lived a life of joy and happiness and she will walk around in heaven always. She was loved and will dearly be missed but she is home now.
