Mrs. Hester Lee Moncree Roberts was born on December 13, 1935 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Horace Moncree and the late Elleise Champion Moncree. She departed this life on November 24, 2022 at her residence in Shelby.
Hester was employed with Macke Vending for some 20 years before her employment at Kemet where she retired from. She was a member at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church from an early age. Hester loved canning and cooking and was terrific at it. She was well known for her homemade soup among other delectable dishes which she willingly shared with others. She loved her family and loved getting them together especially for family reunions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Roberts and her siblings, Fannie Mae Moncree Haynes, Lucille Moncree Ramsey, Annie Lizzie Moncree Hardy, Ella Wease Moncree Hill, Horace Moncree, Jr., Lilly Moncree Glover, Willie James Moncree and Sammie Moncree and Ruth Moncree.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gloria Roberts and Steven Roberts both of Shelby; a sister, Lillian Moncree Caster of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Cleveland Memorial Park. She can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Tuesday.
