Ms. Jacqueline Wright, 52 passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on December 20, 1967 in Cleveland County, NC to Christeen Wright and the late Wray Wright.
Jackie was a faithful member of Washington Missionary Baptist Church where she was a minister, teacher, prayer warrior, avid worshipper, and encourager to all. She was a 1986 graduate of Burns High School. Jackie lived a life full of laughter and love. She was well known for keeping smiles on everybody’s faces and laugher in their hearts. Jackie grew up in the red dirt on Red Hill, where she played softball and was known for getting into the heads of her opponents causing them to strike out while she was hind catching barefoot.
In addition to her father, Jackie is proceeded in death by her brother, Rayfert Wright. Maternal grandmother Nannie Hopper, paternal grandparents, Theodore “Nick” and Addie Wright. Her uncle Wilbert Hopper and 2 special cousins, Addie “Abbie” Oates and Leon Oates.
Left to cherish her phenomenal memories are her daughter, Tanika Wright, and son Gary Washington Jr. (Haley). Jackie had 6 grandchildren, who she referred to as her “angels in the outfield”; Harmony Washington, Jeremiah Adams, Sedric Miller, Garrett Washington, Gabriel Miller, and Gavin Washington. Her mother, Christeen H. Wright. 3 sisters, Mary W. Clark (Melvin), Beverly Wright Young (Blease), and Daphne Wright. 7 nephews; Rafeale McKissick (Montesha), Cervantes “Scoota” Wright, Melvin Clark Jr., Jordan Hill, Cedric Cannon (Jasmine), LaDarrus Wright, and Trevon Wright. 3 nieces, Devon Reeves (Fred), Ambreca McKissick, and Felicia Cannon. A very special young man near and dear to her heart, who she referred to as her son, Thomas Littlejohn. A special cousin Sonya Oates. Her best friend of 35 plus years, Idaree Brooks.Her road dog, Betty Washington. 4 very special friends, Tremayne Booker, Faye Phillips, Rev. Clementine McSwain, and Gary Washington Sr. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
The service for Ms. Wright will be private. A viewing and reception of friends will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Washington Missionary Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM as well as 528 East Stagecoach Trail Lawndale. The service will be live-streamed on Facebook starting at 1:45 PM.

This was truly a woman of God she did what she could to make sure you was okay and everything she truly will be missed I will miss seeing her at church her bright smiling face .
This is one beautiful person that will be missed by so many. Jackie and myself shared sons, Thomas and Dean, we shared our love for our sons with the same kind of heart. Ms Jackie I'll keep them together.
