Obituary For James Anderson

Mr. James Dimario “Bogie” Anderson, Jr. 30, of 719 Webb Church Rd. Ellenboro, NC passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Spindale, NC.

James was such a loving and caring son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a great friend to others, He loved his family and friends with all his heart and soul but most of all he loved God and knew who God was. James will give you the shirt off his back. He would help others, before helping himself.

When James became of age to play football, he joined a little league called “The Kings Mountain Optimist Club” and played for a team called “Mighty Mites:. He continued playing sports such as baseball for Kings Mountain YMCA and basketball for City Park of Shelby for the Amvets.

James attended school at Shelby High School in Shelby, NC where he played football (#66) and wrestling and later moved to Rutherford County and attended East Rutherford High School and joined the chorus program. James completed his schooling at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC where he received his G.E.D.

He has worked for several companies such as Wal-Mart, RSI and Watts but he was last employed with Piedmont Utility Group of Rutherford County until God called him home. He was traveling doing landscaping in different states and cities.. He had just completed his certifications to operate industrial equipment. He was living and doing his dream job.

James attended his first church in Kings Mountain, NC at People’s Baptist Church. While he was there, he went to Sunday School, sang on the Children’s Choir, Usher Board and participated in plays at church.

In 2012, James went to Vestibule AME Zion Church in Kings Mountain, NC and joined . During his time there, he was inspired by the late Thomas Brown to join the “All Men Gospel Choir” and led a couple of songs. He also helped on the “Adult Dance Team” and different projects at the church. He loved going to church and praising God in his own way.

James was a hard worker and a great listener when you needed someone to talk to. He would make you laugh and had a smile that would light up the room. He loved his family vacations and cousin outings and just chilling around others. He has touched so many lives and proved that his grinding never stopped. No matter what life threw at him, he kept striving and pushing and smiling through it all.

Those who have preceded him in death are his paternal grandmother, Dianne Anderson; materal grandfathers, J. Hue Dawson and Danny Littlejohn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Billie Jo Littlejohn (his pops, Ryan) of Ellenboro, NC and James Dimario Anderson, Sr. of Cherrryville, NC; a brother, Deshun Dawson (Samoy) of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandmothers, LaDonna Allison of Kings Mountain, NC and Diane Littlejohn of Shelby; paternal grandfather, James Anderson of Kings Mountain; aunts, Denise Dawson of Kings Mountain and Sandra Lawrence of Shelby, Tamika Self of Columbia, SC; uncle, Alvonza Dawson (Tymeka) of Shelby; great aunts, Bernadette Byars (Larry), Christine Collins, Lashelle Dawson, Chineta Maddox of Shelby, NC; great-uncles, Artis Dawson, Alfred Dawson and Thamon Howell (Christine), Jack(Minnie) Howell of Waco,NC; special cousins who were like siblings, Ashley Thompson, Josetha Thompson, Jr., Alexis Mintz, Charles Camp, Jr., Charneice Crocker, Tyshawn Crocker, Ayiesha Dawson, Gregory Ager; Godmother, Ungina Perkins; Goddaugher, TaNiya Friday; special friends, Lorraine Collins, Rev. Elaine Childers, Jennifer Brown, Torry Burris, Tamika Wells, Cameron Friday, the Watson family and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

James favorite words were “If you around me, I’m gonna make you laugh”.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Vestibule AME Zion Church in Kings Mountain, NC at 2 p.m. The receiving of family and friends will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at the church and other times at the home.
