Obituary For James Marion

Mr. James Willie “J.W.” Marion, 66, of 922 Logan St. Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on March 21, 1953 to the late John Mason and Annie Bines Mason.

“J.W.” as he was called by many was employed with Dedmon Harvest Store for 44 years until he retired. He loved his family and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling different places and loved listening to old music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Warner Lee Woods Marion; a son, Richard “Charlie” Ross and a sister, Patricia Ann Dorsey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, six children, Jamie Marion, Sherita Marion, Jimmie Marion, Timothy Marion, Sherrise Marion (Fredrick) and James Marion, Jr. all of Shelby; a sister, Betty Fernanders (Bobby) of Gaffney, SC; fiancée, Shirley Ann Toms of Shelby; special niece, Willie Ann Chambers of Shelby; thirty-nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Green Bethel Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, NC. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM at the church.
