Mr. John H. Hunt, 59 of 214 Park Street Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland. He was born on September 24th, 1963 in Cleveland County to the late James N. Brown and the late Vernell Hunt Brown.
He graduated from Burns High School. He worked as a truck driver for many years until his health started declining.
He was a member of New Life Christian in Kings Mountain where he served on the Usher Board until his health declined. Also, before his health declined, he was an active mason. In his spare time, John loved watching sports, listening to music by Earth, Wind and Fire and he was a diehard Raiders fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Jerry Hunt, Sgt James Brown Sr, and Vernon Brown. His aunts Betty Adams, Audrey Sanders, and Doris and two uncles Charles Hunt and Herbert Hunt.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hunt; daughters, Aaliyah Hunt of Gastonia NC. Katina Jones, of Shelby, NC and one son Johnny Jones of Shelby NC; one brother, Reginald Forrest Hunt of Shelby, NC; three sisters, Wanda Gail McDowell, of Shelby, NC, Kathy Howell of Colorado and Jennifer Brown Ambrose (Edward) of New Jersey; two sisters- in- laws, Faye Brown, Zeal Ikard (Marcus), of Lawndale, NC and Sharon Hush of Winston- Salem NC; seven brother-in-law’s David Hush (Felicia) and Benjamin hush both of Lawndale NC. Elmer Hush (Emmy), Willie Hush both of Lincolnton, NC. Freddie Hush and Mark Hush both of Shelby NC. Elijah Hush of Greenville, SC; a special aunt, Margaret “Eugene” Young; 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 1:30 PM at New Life Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM and at other times at 214 Park Street Shelby.

There are no words to convey that can ease the pain of losing John. John was a nice guy, friend and classmate of mine at Burns High School. He and his brother Forest were good people.
