Obituary For Johnny Wilson, Jr.

Mr. Johnny Wilson, Jr., 70, of Shelby, NC departed this life on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Atrium Health- Main in Charlotte, NC. He was born on December 31, 1952 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Johnny Wilson, Sr. and the late Ruthie Mintz Wilson.

Johnny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren which he referred affectionately to as his “sweet babies”. He was also an avid Carolina Panthers fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Wilson and James Edward Wilson; sisters, Sharon Wilson, Gloria Turner and Dorothy Jimson and a nephew, Derek Jimson.

Left to cherish fond memories, his wife, Mary Ann Huskey Wilson; daughters, Janet Wilson of Shelby, Valerie Brown (Stanley) also of Shelby, Tierra Littlejohn of Kings Mountain, NC; one son, Kenneth Wilson of Kings Mountain; one sister, Shirley Webber of Forest City, NC; grandchildren, Lakissia Slowiaczek (Joseph) of Charlotte, NC, Lakelia Hardy of Gaffney, SC, Kenyona Wilson of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Petty of Kings Mountain, Malani Williams of Kings Mountain; five great-grandchildren; good friend, Brandon Finney and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed starting at 1:45 PM from Enloe Mortuary’s Facebook Page. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM and at other times at 331 Jack Francis Road Shelby.
