Mrs. Jorinda “Denene” Johnson Hare, 56, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte. She was born on November, 23 1964 in Cleveland County, NC to Barbara Johnson and the late Joseph Stevenson.
Denene’s Testimony “Thank you family and friends, for all of your prayers. For those of you who don’t know my testimony, I want to share what God did for me. The doctors had only given me 6 months to live. That was over a year ago and He is still proving His Word and plan for my life is greater than a doctor’s report. For that, I am grateful! God has given me a second chance to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. He could have permitted my life to be taken by disease. But God, He used this situation and time to allow me to develop a relationship with him. What do I mean? Sometimes we get complex in our thinking. With my upbringing in the church and all the organizations that I participated in such as, Bible studies, the choir, Girls in Action volunteerism, and picking up children for the kids choir rehearsal, I thought I was good with God. The big question was not what I was doing “good” for God but if I received what Jesus had done for me and taking up my cross to follow Him in my life? This is my second chance, my new life in Christ! I am so grateful to God.
God is a doctor above all other doctors. He’s a healer, He’s a friend and He has the final say! The key is to trust him whole heartily and not doubt His love and saving power in our lives.” Posted October 7, 2020
“Denene” was a 1983 graduate of Shelby High School. She attended Central Piedmont Community College with initial aspirations of becoming a Registered Nurse. She entered the medical field by completing training in phlebotomy and was employed as a phlebotomist for a number of years with C.M.C.- Main in Charlotte. She later became a telemetry technician working with Novant Health also in Charlotte starting in 2016. Denene’s most fulfilling and rewarding role though was as a mother to her three children. She always played a very active role in their lives and in all that they were involved with. She also played a very central part in the lives of her extended Johnson Family. She was the glue that kept the family together and loved organizing family reunions and vacations. Denene also extended herself outside of her family by volunteering with several organizations including homeless shelters.
Denene loved living and enjoying the finer things of life Although a great cook herself, she enjoyed fine dining, shopping and presenting herself well. She was a woman of class who was always elegant and graceful.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her great-grandmother who raised her, Pauline Johnson Hood; a cousin, Sylvia Cynthia Johnson and a great-aunt, Ethel Jorinda Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory: her husband of 24 years, Ronald Hare, III; her mother, Barbara Johnson; her children, Ahshanti, Ronald, IV and Jada; a host of siblings which includes sisters, Sylvia Pauletta Johnson and Ahsaki Teague; her dearest uncle, Johnny Johnson (Gloria); uncle Phillip Lewis Johnson ( Jane), Robert Johnson (Devena), Dale Johnson (Angelique), her aunt Gina Kessler; her special cousin who was like a sister, Tonya Johnson; her father and mother-in-law, Ronald Hare, II and Elizabeth Hare; three brothers-in-law, Graylen Hare (Carmen), Martin Hare (Laedreon) and Jeffery Hare; her “prayer warriors” and special friends, Hershela Washington, Regina Miller, Troy Poole, Domenica Clementi, Karen Spencer, Princess Johnson and Porshia Hare and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hare will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 1:45 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church and other times at 4411Strangford Ave. Charlotte on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Loving prayers and memories of this remarkable woman. A heart of gold, full of kindness, and her smile lights up the room. Jorinda used her 2+ years of battling pancreatic cancer to spread the word of God, make others aware of this illness, give hope to those she would meet. She is a true inspiration to the power of faith, hope, and outpouring of selfless love. You will be missed but never far from us. Love you so sweetness! Dominica and Jim, with the Clementi and Morlando families

Prayers for your family on the loss of Denene. I was a few years ahead of her but remember her well thanks to Mrs. Hood. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, I think she and Paulette were one of my mother's (Ovella Jones) girl scouts.
