Ms. Mary Ann Sutton Hargro of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her residence in Shelby, NC. She was born on June 22, 1950 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Bob Sutton and the late Mattie Bell Harris Sutton.

Mary was a member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending. And she loved to talk about the Lord. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a mother to everyone she met, and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching, DYI, Western Channel, and Animal Planet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 3 sisters Janie Sutton Evans, Jessie Sutton Rainey, and Annie Doris Sutton Brown, and her brothers Leroy, Joe, Ben, Obbie, J.T., John Roberts, Willie Frank, James and Willie Bob Sutton.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Carol Marie Sutton (Jody); and 3 sons, Johnny Hargro (Darlene), Courtney Hargro (Cassandra) and Chavis Hargro (Bianca); ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Sutton and Alberta Sutton Rankin; nine nieces, seven nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends which includes Casey Montgomery N.Y.

Funeral services for Ms. Hargro will be private. She may be viewed at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
