Rest in peace to my childhood classmate and friend.Although we lived miles apart it was always a class reunion when ever i will see Mattie. We will talk about old times, and we always make promises of keeping in touch and visiting each other. When i receive the news that Mattie has passed. My heart was so broken, not only because she's gone, also must of our promises weren't kept. I do promise i will keep her family in my prayers as they go through this difficult time. Rest in peace my friend until we meet in paradise.
I loved Odessa. She was one of the great caregivers for my Aunt Sarah Griffin who lived in one of the villas at Henderson Care Ctr. I remember all of us going to lunch one day & laughing the whole time. My thoughts & prayers for her family!
To the Briscoe Family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Odessa was a light and such a beautiful person inside and out. I'm grateful for all the years that God gave us as church family and beyond.
To the family, my heart is so heavy, but I know that God is too wise and to big to make a mistake I just keep looking at my phone thinking that it's going to ring it just as her you say hey friend just now I will continue to pray for your children and your grandchildren. Love always forever, my friend.
I offer my condolences to the family of Mattie Brisco Stroud. My relationship with Mattie goes back to high school where we were good friends. After many years of separation our friendship was reawakened when I unreturned to NC to live. Our friendship continued and Mattie's energy and spirit was always an uplift to my day when I saw her. I offer continued prayers to the family and to friends who will miss her in our lives.
In God's name,
Darryl Ellis

To my family, may God give you all strength and comfort to make it through this time of sadness, Mattie was a wonderful cousin and I'm sure you're gonna miss her as much as I am. When I received word at Mattie had gained her wings. My heart was broken, but that's just how I felt because God knows best. Death is something that you can never prepare for in life until it happens. I have a lot of family members, but Mattie and I was close. She and I communicated quite often talking about everything. Ricky,Tammy,Diamond, Tamiya and the list goes on and on. This is a woman who loved her family well and she loved her grandkids unconditionally and she knew God as a Lord and Savior Jesus Jesus Christ, and it was all right with her when she found out what was going on. She said she was good with Jesus. Strength and comfort be with all of you. Love ❤️ you family, Jackie

To our beloved Biscoe and Stroud (Marvin) Family, Ms. Odessa (what I called her) and I were friends to the end. I can't remember how we became friends, but I know we were. She was a definite asset to Kingstown, Cleveland County and Palmer Grove Baptist Church, She had a gift of giving that surpassed all understanding. She and I teamed up to do many projects and she always went beyond the call of duty. If nothing else, I know she is resting from her labor and is now wearing a well deserved crown of life. She loved my children and I the same. She always had a kind word to say about Kenteze no matter what he did= that's love!! Ms. Odessa you will always be remembered with love and gratitude, by The Martin Family. Bishop Sharon Martin, Kendra, Kenneth Jr. and the mighty Kenteze!!
Sorry for the loss of your loved one. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
