Ms. NewZeland Ross, affectionately known by many as Ms. Zeal departed this life for her eternal home on Tuesday March 1, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. Her last 5 years were respectfully spent at The Parc at Sharon Amity where she was loved and cared for by so many. She was born on September 13, 1936 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Sebe and Pearly Patterson Watkins.
She was a member of St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church in Grover, NC. She was a retired dedicated worker for SunShine Uniform services where she worked for over 30 years. In her free time she enjoyed watching drama filled talk shows, local news and Lifetime movie shows as if she starred in them herself. She also enjoyed attending Gospel Quartet Concerts and when given the opportunity spoiling her grandchildren with delicious sugary treats!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband A.C Ross of Blacksburg, SC, four brothers: Acres “Nelson” Watkins, Brodus Watkins, Robert Watkins and Earnest Watkins, three sisters: Corine Miller, Hattie Mae Schenck and Gladys Bines.
Left to cherish her in memory are three children: Lucille Holmes (Franklin) of Mt. Holly, NC, Al Ross of Gastonia, NC and Herb Ross of Winnemucca, NV., one sister Marjorie Schenck of Stanley, NC, and two brothers T.K Watkins of Lawndale, NC and Raymond Watkins of Gastonia, NC., 11 Grandchildren: Altiffany Ross of Columbia, SC, Shana Davis of Virginia Beach, VA, Shawn Ross (Tinesella) of Blythewood, SC, Caleb Ross of Sparks, NV, Camisha Spears (Robert) of Winnemucca, NV, Quinton Gardner of Rock Hill, SC, Chavis Ross of Gastonia, Erica Harris (Cedric) of Charlotte, NC, Dameion Young of Rock Hill, SC, Tawana Holmes of Charlotte, NC and Danny Ross (Samantha) of Gastonia, NC and a pleasant host of great granddaughters, great grandsons, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:30 AM at ST. Peters Missionary Baptist Church in Grover, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will take at the church cemetery.

I became to know Ms Ross through my brother-in-law. She was a wonderful person. I enjoyed every time I saw her. She will be missed by many. I'm praying for her family. Rest In Peace lovely lady. Sharon Hill Youngblood
