Obituary For Patricia Chambers Wiley

Patricia Ann Chambers Wiley, affectionately remembered for her warmth and radiant spirit, was born on July 10, 1960, and passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 65, following a courageous battle with illness.

A lifelong resident of Shelby, North Carolina, Patricia was the daughter of Betty Brewton and was nurtured and raised by Clyde Lewis Chambers and Ida Mae Chambers. She attended Crest High School, where she participated in track and was actively engaged in health occupations and various school activities, always driven by her desire to help others. Later, she proudly graduated from TROSA, a testament to her resilience, strength, and unwavering determination.

Patricia lived a life filled with love, creativity, and joy. She found happiness in crocheting, preparing meals that brought family together, and sharing laughter that brightened every room. Known for her warm embraces, she had a remarkable way of making people feel valued, comforted, and deeply loved. Her vibrant “firecracker” personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a source of guidance and light to many.

In addition to her mother, she leaves behind her children, Iaiesha Wiley and Ira Wiley and his wife, Jennifer Wiley. She was a proud grandmother to Ireyonna, Jaevon, Jazlyn, Jaqueron, Zyira, Nariyah, Ishine, Jehlani, Aaron, Wynter, and Sincere, each of whom she adored.

Patricia shared a deep bond with those she affectionately called her “love babies”: Natasha, Channel, Chelcia (TJ), Cherry (Cherish and Tray), Stephanie (Amani & Khiran) and Emma (Tashawn). She loved each of them unconditionally, offering guidance and care as if they were her own.

She is also survived by her sisters, Laura Brewton and Janice Whisnant; Janice’s husband, Author Whisnant; a niece; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Brewton, and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Constance Brewton.

Patricia’s life was defined by compassion, strength, and generosity. She was steadfast in her commitment to uplifting others, especially children and those in need. Her legacy of kindness and love will endure in the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
