Obituary For Ray Homesley

Mr. Ray Linwood Homesley, 80, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at White Oak Manor, Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 14, 1943, to the late Linwood Homesley and the late Alam Bratton Homesley.

Ray was a graduate of Cleveland High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving honorably for four years. He was employed for 35 years at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed being at home and watching the news and sports. His favorite team was the Carolina Panthers and he loved keeping up with politics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie Homesley and Ann Morgan and a brother, Leon Homesley.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his children, Teresa Brintley (Norris) of Kingstown, NC, Michael Homesley and Alan Homesley both of Shelby; his siblings, Ulysses Bratton of NY, Juanita Anderson of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis Homesley (Clementine) of Greensboro, NC, Jerry Homesley of Lawndale, NC, Janice Barber (Andrew) of Rock Hill, SC and Kevin Homesley of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; good friend, Garrett Hunt of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Shelby, NC at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM and also at 1002 Pebble Street Shelby, NC.
