Obituary For Ray Lockhart, Sr.

Mr. Ray Randall Lockhart, Sr., entered into eternal peace on Friday, June 24, 2022 at his residence in Shelby, N.C. Mr. Lockhart was born January 15, 1938 to the late Jacob and FloreeChambers Lockhart, Sr. Mr. Lockhart was formerly employed by Fluor Daniels Construction for over fifty-years and retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was also a former member of the Shelby Reds semi-pro baseball team. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ms. Penny Lockhart Canty, four brothers, Authur James “Dick” Lockhart, Clyde Lockhart, Thomas Lockhart, Matthew Lockhart and two sisters, Gloria Jane Sanders, and Martha Ruth Lockhart. He leaves to cherish precious memories: his wife of sixty years Mrs. Laura Lee Huskey Lockhart, one son, Pastor Ray Lockhart, Jr. and his wife Dr. Linda Williams Lockhart, two daughters, Linda Lockhart McDowell (Rellie), and Colrosee Lockhart Russell (Marcus, Sr.) all of Shelby, NC. Eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. Three brothers: Jacob Lockhart, Jr. (Selma), Shelby, NC, K.C Lockhart, Society Hill, S.C. and Jerry Lockhart (Linda), Lenior, NC and four sisters, Ola Mae Roseboro, Mattie Faye Scott, Dorothy Lockhart, and Delores Lockhart, all of Shelby, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the church and also at his residence. The service will be livestreamed from the Ellis Chapel FaceBook page.
