Mr. R. B. Truesdale transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on February 1, 1943 in Union County, NC to the late Josephine Truesdale and the late Clyde Meaders .
R. B. was employed with Metrolina Plastics for over twenty years in addition to Gardner Webb University for many years. He was currently employed with Grassy Pond Elementary School in Gaffney, SC at the time of his death.
R. B. was a member of Hoppers Chapel Baptist Church. R. B. loved the Lord and enjoyed making music for the Lord. He loved his wife and family. He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gerald T. Truesdale and one brother, Tommy Truesdale, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory to his wife of 49 years, Venice H. Truesdale; five sons, Roger Truesdale (Charlene) of Charlotte, NC, Donald Truesdale (Sharon) of Grover, NC, Anthony Truesdale (Gloria) of Charlotte, Andre Truesdale of Winston-Salem, NC and Kelvin Maple of Clover, SC; one daughter, Monica Wideman (John) of Grover, NC; five sisters, Bernice Tobias and Betty Morgan (Gus) both of Charlotte, NC, Dorethea Burns and Shirley Guy both of Matthews, NC and Emma Massey (Bobby) of Monroe, NC; one brother, Harold Truesdale (Ethel) of Charlotte; a special friend of the family, Angela Register and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Truesdale will be held on Thursday September 9, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Hopper’s Chapel Baptist Church. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 3:45 PM. The family will be receiving friends from 3:30 P.M until 4:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.

Bro. Truesdale was a wonderful man! He and his wife was a true example of Marriage💯. He was a great musician and loved to play for THE Shining Stars Gospel Group! Rest well..🌹
RB was my big brother and I love him dearly.I have so many memories of him that can't be counted. Our house burnt down when I was only 2 years old and our mom said he went into the burning house and grab my sister and my little rocking chair out. Still have that chair (66 years ago).love my brother
I worked third at Metrolina Plastics, but I talked to Rob some before I left. He was a great man. Praying for the family.
Robert was my & my late mother's (Mary Jane Sims) manager at Metrolina Plastics. He was a kind person with a friendly spirit. My prayers and condolences go out to his family.
