In Loving Memory of Deacon Robert Lee Edwards
Deacon Robert Lee Edwards, age 86, departed this life peacefully on October 25, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1939, in Wilson, North Carolina, to Robert Lee Edwards Sr. and Lula Ward. Robert’s life was a reflection of purpose and faith. A longtime member of N.E.P. Ministries, he lived his life fully marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for his family, his church, and his community.
Robert was known for his warm heart and willingness to help others. He founded Love In Action Ministries, where he served the homeless, supported battered women and children, and extended compassion wherever it was needed. Outside of his ministry, he enjoyed fishing and could often be found cheering for all major New England sports teams.
Throughout his professional life, Robert worked diligently as a Supervisor at PT Brake Lining Company, Inc. in Lawrence, Massachusetts. His strong work ethic and leadership earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always placing others before himself and offering guidance, love, and wisdom to those around him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Brenda J. Edwards; his children, Gregory Edwards and wife Karen of Wilson, NC; Latressa Edwards of Lowell, MA; Charles Wiley of Wilson, NC; Daniel Christopher and his wife Roxine of Londonderry, NH; and Louis Christopher of Lowell, MA.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure memories of him attending their games and enjoying family gatherings and who will carry forward his legacy of compassion and strength.
Robert is also survived by his siblings: David Edwards, Roosevelt Edwards, Clarence Edwards and his wife Lucille, Terry Sharpe, Shirley Cash, Bonnie Woodard, Deliva Anderson, Diane Anderson and her husband Robert, Lucy Speight, Willie Mae Edwards, and Margaret Edwards. A brother-in-law Thurman Hall and his wife Lela, a sister-in-law Linda Howard and her husband Edwin and an Aunt Eveline Sharpe of Wilson, NC.
Though Deacon Edwards has gone on to his eternal rest, his faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
