Mr. Robert Lee Whitworth, Sr., 73, of Newton, NC, passed away on June 12, 2025 at his residence. He was born on February 2, 1952, in Cleveland County, NC to the late J.B. Whitworth and the late Minnie Spikes Whitworth.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Release Church (formally Antioch Baptist Church), 1616 Kings Road, Shelby, NC at 11:30 a.m. The reception of family and friends will be from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the church and at 807 Elmwood Drive, Shelby, NC at all other times.
Uncle Robert, I wanted to come by and leave this message to let you know I loved you. I hadnt seen you in quite some time as I've grown older and shuffled around moving but I do remember your smile and getting the chance to see you. You had many nieces and nephews, I am just one of them. I know God is holding you close and now you're with my papa Jerry ♥️ and mawmaw vita and pawpaw JB in which i know they are happy to see you in heaven. Unk, haven't seen you since your brother (my dad) went on. Now you two will have lots to talk about when you see him. At some point, we all will go and folks will be reading about us too. Breathing was hard for you on this side but praise ye the Lord, you Do NOT have the problem anymore.
