Obituary For Thelma Oates
Ms. Thelma Oates, 69, of Shelby, NC passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC. She was born on August 15, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Loxie Oates and the late Inez Poston Oates.
She was formerly employed with Clevemont Mills in Kings Mountain, NC. She was a loving mother to her two sons and she enjoyed reading.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Oates, Bobby Oates, John Paul Oates and a sister, Addie Oates.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her sons, Shawn Marcell Oates (Vatonya) and Jonas Dominic Oates both of Shelby; two brothers, Donald Oates of Morganton, NC and Benjamin Oates (Mary) of Mount Veron, NY; three grandchildren, Sha’Kayla Oates, QuayShawn Oates and Tyquez Oates all of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Ms. Oates will be private. She may be viewed at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 15, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The family will be meeting at 1007 Fallston Road Shelby. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
