Mr. Theodore “Ted” Nelson Davis Jr., 57, of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1967 in Rutherfordton, NC to the late Theodore Davis Sr. and the late Gloria Watson Davis Famble.
Theodore was known by family as "Jr.", "Ted", or "Buster" depending on his relationship to the person that he was talking with. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Joseph "Joey" Henry Famble.
Ted was reared in Shelby and attended Shelby City Schools and graduated with the Shelby High School class of 1985. He attended Appalachian State University before starting his work career in various industries including retail, fashion, and manufacturing. At the time of his death, he was employed with Amazon in Charlotte, NC. He was a lifetime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. In his early childhood, he was a part of the youth choir.
He is survived by a sister, Monsonia Sparkman (Winfred); nieces, Monica Sparkman, Marcella Sparkman, and Monique Sparkman; and his great nephews, Jayden Anderson and Gary Sparkman-Couillard whom he called his "little buddies". "Jr.", "Ted", and "Buster" is also survived by a host of loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC at 9:00 AM. The reception of friends will be at 1316 Frederick Street, Shelby, NC from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM daily.
