Mr. Timothy Brown, 55, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He was born on July 26, 1966 in Mecklenburg County, NC to Brenda Brown Richards and the late David Hopper. He was a 1985 graduate of Shelby High School. After graduation, he attended college at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University and Johnson C. Smith University. He later returned to Shelby where he worked in construction and home improvement. He was most recently employed with WillScot US Construction in Charlotte, NC. Tim was a member of the St. Paul Masonic Lodge #12 in Charlotte, NC.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Gertude Brown and paternal grandparents, Cornelius and Fannie Mae Hopper.
Left to cherish his memory: two daughters, Courtney Brown and Timbra Thompson; his mother, Brenda Brown Richards; special aunt who reared him in the home, Barbara Harper; sisters, Pamela Morris and Carol Camp; cousins raised as siblings, Lisa Lockett(Timothy), Julian Hopper, Thomas Harper(Deborah), Daryl Harper, Dunsey Harper(Amanda), and Tyrone “Carlos” Brown; two grandchildren, Jordan and Journee Gash; aunts, Loretta Williams, Gloria Massey(James), Valerie Brown and Sabrina Ford(Snipe); a special friend; Felika Harris and a host of a nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tim was a sports fanatic that played football, softball and ran track growing up. Tim was a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved to laugh and enjoyed having a good time creating memories with family and friends. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face with his singing, dancing and rambunctious laughter; always ready to entertain with his storytelling.
The funeral service for Mr. Brown will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the church.
