Mr. Tommie Lee Williams, 69, of 106 Peter Key Road, Lawndale, NC passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at his residence. Tommie Lee was born in Cleveland County on July 11, 1954, to the late James Fleetwood Sr. and Lizzie Waller Williams.
Tommie Lee attended Burns High School, where he excelled in football and earned the nickname "Headhunter". After school, he worked at various textile mills and furniture enterprises, specifically Shuford Mills, until retiring. His favorite football team was the San Francisco 49’ers. He loved music, was known for dancing, a warm smile, and being the life of the party. He never met a stranger; yet always saw the good in people and cherished his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death siblings, Joann Williams Dover and Lewis Calvin Williams and Elder Michael Williams; son-in-law, Tracy L. Morris and brother-in-law Johnny Dover.
He leaves to cherish his daughter, Shonda Lee Morris; brothers, Peter G. Williams (Sherry), Jeff T. Williams (Natalie) and Rev. Dr. James F. Williams, Jr. (Dorothy); sisters-in-law, Pauline H. Williams and Saronda B. Williams; uncle, James Otis Maddox (Barbara); aunt, Mae K. Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A reception of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel from 4 until 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 3 pm. Reception of friends and family will be from 2:30 pm until 3 pm. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
