Obituary For Tracy Thurman
Ms. Tracy Jeanette Thurman 52, of Shelby was born February 4, 1970 in Cleveland County to the late Deacon John T. and Ruby J. Norris-Thurman. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 17 2022 at her residence.
At a young age, she was a member and became a Christian at her family church, Palmer Grover Baptist Church; Kingstown, NC under the leadership of Reverend Dr. James L. Smith. Later in her journey with Christ she became a member of Greater Liberty Temple Church of Deliverance Henrietta. Tracy was known for her angelic voice singing and intercessory auxiliary.
Tracy was affectionately known for her gorgeous smile and her beautiful voice. She enjoyed shopping, singing and most of all spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was proceed in death by one brother, Steven Thurman, a special God-brother, Reverend Kenneth Hezekiah Smith, 8 uncles & 8 aunts.
She is survived by her sister Ms. Mary Thurman, 4 brothers Deacon Donnie (Min. Debra) Thurman Sr, Karl Thurman, Jackie Thurman, & Michael Thurman all of Shelby. 1 niece who was like a sister, Teresa Brooks & 1 nephew who was like a brother, Carlos Brooks Sr. 5 Aunts: Emma Hopper & Annie Whisnant of Shelby, Eva (Bobby) Jennings, Kay Allen, & Isabelle Rivers all of Kingstown, NC. One uncle, John Norris of Fallston, NC. A host of nieces & nephews & cousins. She also cherished her relationship with her god siblings Elder Sherwood Smith & Pansy (Eddie) Davidson of Shelby, special friends dear to her heart, Portia Shell & Tabitha Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Palmer Grove Baptist Church. Burial will take at the church cemetery. The service will be livestreamed starting at 12:45 PM from the Enloe Mortuary Face Book page. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM and at other times at 1820 Kings Road Shelby
