Ms. Vinnie Proctor Ross, 67, known to family, friends and loved ones as “Vonlu”, of Shelby NC transitioned to be with her Heavenly father on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence. She was born April 28, 1953 in Cleveland County to the late Rob Hunt and Maybelle Allen Proctor.
Ms.Volu was a faithful member of Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ. She was a member of the praise team, choir and served many years on the usher board and women’s ministry. She was a warm, generous and kind-hearted lady who loved the Lord. Vonlu loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Spending time with her children and grandchildren brought great joy to her life. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her life despite the many losses of close family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband William “Peter” Ross, Sr., her brothers, J.W. Proctor, Wade Proctor, Arthur William Proctor, Junior Proctor and Al Tate; her sisters, Estella Feaster, Vernie Johnson, and Lorrine Robinson; stepchildren Richard McDowell and Charles William Geter; and grandchildren Precious Allen, Tiffany Wilson and Trysten Brown.
Vonlu leaves to cherish fond memories her children, Elder Tyrone Allen (Regina) of Shelby NC, Rev. Maurice Allen (Shavette) of Kings Mountain NC, Rodney Allen (fiancé Jasmine) of the home, and Tonya Moses (Quon) of Shelby, stepchildren who she treated as her own, William Ross, Jr., Jackie Allen and Wanda Ross of Shelby; brother, Pink Hunt of Shelby NC, sisters, Julia Mae Allen, Paulette Ross (Jerry), Joyce Tate all of Shelby and Dora Young of Gaffney, SC; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Ross, Percy Ross of Shelby, Cleo Ross( Louise) of Newton, NC, Larry Ross of Cherryville NC and Steven Ross of Charlotte NC; Twenty-four grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Ms. Ross will be private. She may be viewed at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 11:00AM with a reception of friends at Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ 125 West Zion Church Road from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM. I am so sorry for your loss vinnnie was a Christian woman that knew the lord and her bible so now the lord it was time to come home and take her rest you will be miss but never forgotten stay strong and May God bless all of you will keep you all in my prayers and my heart love you all
