Ms. Whitney Renée Maddox, 33, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Atrium Health- Main in Charlotte, NC. She was born on August 6, 1987 in Cleveland County, NC to Shayvonne Michelle Maddox and Marvin Brando Moore.
Whitney was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Whitney is a 2005 graduate of Shelby High School and attended Winston-Salem State University. She also attended Ultimate Medical Academy where she received credentials for Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Technician. She worked at Burger King, IHOP, and Ingles Pharmacy until her health failed. The love of her life was her daughter, Aubrey. They loved playing board games, dancing, and going on family vacations. Whitney also loved to eat lunch with Aubrey at school. Whitney loved music, especially 90’s R&B, and she loved to dance.
Whitney is survived by one daughter, Aubrey Renée Maddox-Doster; mother, Shayvonne Maddox; Father and her “other mom” Marvin “Brando” and Consuelo Moore; two sisters, Maria Maddox and Jasmine Moore; three grandmothers, Pandora Maddox, Bonita “Gail” Hopper, and Linda Smarr; grandfather, Gene Hopper; two special aunts, Shandilette “Granny” Maddox and Renee Dixon of Richmond VA; Special Godmother, “Aunt Trish”; two godchildren, Da’Mani Janae French and William Doster; the entire Maddox, Gentry, Moore, and Hopper families and a host of additional cousins and friends.
The graveside service for Ms. Maddox has been planned for 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021. She can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery masks are required.
