Funeral services for Bernice R. Pringle were held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Simmons, Pastor. Interment will be held in New Hope Blackwater Cemetery on Highway 39. Visitation was held at Enterprise Funeral Home, beginning at 7:00 PM, with Rosary at 7:45 PM, April 7, 2017.

Mrs. Pringle was a nursing assistant at The Home for the Incurable in New Orleans, LA, followed by Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian until her retirement.

As a young adult she began a long term waitress career at Weidman’s Restaurant which sparked her interest in food preparation and she later started Bern’s Catering. She was dedicated to feeding the hungry and helping the sick and shut-in.

She leaves loving, fond memories and many life lessons to her daughters, Furahaa Saba, a.k.a. Evelyn of San Diego, CA: Deborah Parker and her devoted son-in-law, Curtis Parker of Meridian; her beloved grand-daughter, Dr. Shana D. Parker Wakefield and her husband, Ver-Non of Tallahassee, FL, step grand-daughter, Curtrechia Nunn of Gretna, LA. Her surviving siblings include Sam Conner of New Orleans, LA; Henry McShan and his wife, Dorthea and Jessie Hampton of Milwaukee, WI. She will be missed by three sister-in-laws of Berkley, CA, Lucille Hassell, Viola Gilliam and Grace Langford. She will also be remembered by loyal, caring friends and neighbors, Joe Sherman, Ezzie Barham, Freda Dorse, Florine Smith and Cornelius Beal.
